Mr. Diaz has spent years honing his unique legal skills, with a focus on creative problem solving in complex transactional matters. Having spent time in banking and both the public and private sectors of law, coupled with his time as a veteran and first responder, Daniel takes an asymmetrical approach to distilling legal issues to their core.
Daniel graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2010, but instead of jumping right into the law, he decided to serve his country in the Florida Army National Guard. He was fortunate enough to be selected to join the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne), and attended extensive special operations training over the course of six years. He began his legal career as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Miami in 2014, quickly becoming a leader in the Complex Transactional Division. There, he worked on some of the largest transactions in the City’s history, and specialized in leases, licenses, real estate development, construction agreements, and land use agreements. Just a few of the projects in which Daniel was involved were the Miami International Boat show, the Ultra Music Festival, and the Inter-Miami MLS Soccer stadium development.
Since entering private practice, Daniel has continued to refine his skills in all things business law, and has assisted countless clients in starting and expanding their businesses. Clients engage Daniel to help them navigate the complicated arena of corporate conflict resolution. Daniel specializes in negotiating all manners of transactions, including but not limited to corporate mergers, partnership buyouts, capital infusion and business expansion investments, professional service agreements, and affiliate relationship contracts, to name a few. The efficiency with which he analyzes the relevant concerns, allows for more time to be allocated to strategizing with clients about their best paths forward. His time in the financial field further contributes to his wide view of what other attorneys see as a narrow set of issues. This leads to recognizing costly problems that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Daniel knows that no business transaction is completed, nor corporate problem solved, in a vacuum disassociated from financial considerations. His preemptive examination of these factors has allowed his clients to make or save millions of dollars. Daniel has served as in-house counsel for numerous local and regional entities and has provided business consulting services to corporate leaders throughout the Country. As a veteran and first responder, he knows the immense value of working as a team, and assists needing clients in assembling financial experts, tax professionals, and consultants in all sectors to work together.
As passionate as Daniel remains about helping his legal clients, he feels he same about serving his community. It was this drive that compelled him to attend and graduate from the City of Miami Fire Rescue Academy in 2021, one of the most grueling in the United States. He takes the same approach in solving sensitive problems for those in need in the Emergency Medical Service as he does when working on multi-million dollar transactions. Daniel finds that this life balance provides him with a perspective simply unknown by other attorneys.
Today, Daniel continues to represent individuals, as well as small, medium, and large-sized corporations, including non-profit charitable organizations and multi-national conglomerates in numerous industries. He takes pride in providing the same customer service and attention to detail to individuals as he does negotiating the most complex of transactions for institutional clients.
